Connah's Quay Town
Councillors meet at least twice a month to discuss a variety of topics
relevant to the development and future needs of the Town. The Town
Council prides itself in conducting its business in an open and
transparent manner, members of the public can attend these meetings.

Connah's Quay is the
largest Town Council in Flintshire of the thirty four (34) town and
community councils both in terms of population and financial activity.
The Town Council is
limited by law in what activities it can participate and does not have
the extensive powers of the principal local authority - Flintshire
County Council, who have the responsibility of delivering most of the
day to day services within the town.
The Town Council's
principal role is to act on behalf of the residents, businesses and
other organisations on matters referred to it by the Welsh Assembly
Government, Flintshire County Council, Local Health Board. other
public agencies, local organisations and members of the public.
The spectrum of topics
range from tourism, planning, crime and disorder, transport, parking,
environment, post boxes, public telephone kiosks, wheeled sports etc.
In order to discuss such topics the council seeks out information from
the relevant sources and invites a variety of speakers to address the
Council on matters of general interest or local significance.

The new scheme
came into operation on 1st January 2009 and was adopted by the Town
Council on 25 November 2008. The New Model Publication Scheme
requires town and community council to provide as much information to
be made available to the public.
The information is
split into different classes, most is already available on our
website (click on the appropriate bullet point). Please read the
Model Publication Scheme Document for other methods of accessing

This
